Martha is a native of Mexico and was raised in Santa Cruz, California. She moved to Spartanburg in 1995 and earned her associates degree from Spartanburg Community College. Martha has thirteen years of experience working in community health centers and loves working with diverse populations. She is an active advocate for the Hispanic community and enjoys volunteering and helping people in her spare time.

A graduate of Lander College, Corlis has an extensive background in home health nursing and community case management. She recieved her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Gardner Webb University in May of 2013. Some of Corlis' responsibilities include:  conducting medical needs assessments, developing care plans and interventions with clients, performing medication reconciliation, placing clients into medical homes, and coordinating speciality and ancillary services. An Upstate resident for the past 17 years, Corlis enjoys listening to music and walking for relaxation.

Sheri is a Community Case Worker for HOPS (Healthy Outcomes Program Spartanburg). In this role, she will be helping clients achieve better health by connecting them with medical and social resources. Sheri holds an Associates Degree as an Administrative Medical Associate from Spartanburg Community College. She has worked in numerous administrative support roles for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System including Patient Access Representative (Admissions, EMS, Rehabilitation Services), Senior Patient Access Representative (Wound Center), Patient Account Representative (Business Office), and Scheduling Coordinator (Rehabilitation Services). Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, traveling, gardening, attending church activities, reading, and listening to music.

Kelly is a native of Long Island, New York and previously lived in Baltimore, Maryland prior to moving to South Carolina. While residing in Baltimore, she worked as a Research Program Assistant at Johns Hopkins University. Before coming to AccessHealth, she worked at Foothills Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, providing expertise in electronic medical records and other software. Kelly joined our team in April 2015 as Data Coordinator, assisting in a myriad of tasks including organization of existing data and educating staff on more streamlined usage of our current software.

In her off time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Riley and being an aunt to new nephew, Hayden.

Sheila is a Community Case Worker at AccessHealth. She strives to connect clients to a primary care doctor to help them live a healthier lifestyle. Prior to working at AccessHealth Spartanburg, Sheila worked as a Scheduler for Spartanburg Regional Transportation, a Clinical Scheduler for Spartanburg Regional Home Health, and an Administrative Assistant for Nurse Family Partnership at Spartanburg Regional. She holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Spartanburg Community College and a Certificate in Data Entry from Blanton’s Business College. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, reading, and watching her children play sports at school.

Abby is a Florida native but recently hails from Tennessee. She joined AccessHealth in 2017 as an AmeriCorps VISTA and works with volunteers, program development and fundraising. She is pursuing a Master's in Public Health and hopes to work in a hospital setting.

Brook is a native of Union County. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Limestone College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Brook is responsible for connecting clients to vital resources throughout Spartanburg County while serving as the primary social worker for AccessHealth Spartanburg. Brook comes to AHS from Spartanburg Regional Hospice, where she worked as programs Volunteer Coordinator for over 6 years. Brook enjoys being active in her church, spending time with her family and friends, and exercising.

Cartia Higgins is responsible for client case management and resource navigation in her role as a Community Case Worker for HOPS (Healthy Outcomes Program Spartanburg). Cartia spent one year at Spartanburg Methodist College studying to be a paralegal before graduating from Spartanburg Community College with a degree in business management. She has two years of nursing home experience and six years of patient care experience. Outside of work, Cartia enjoys hair modeling, working out, traveling, and enjoying her dog, friends, and family.

Meredith was born and raised in Greenville, SC and attended Clemson University.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and has an extensive background working with diverse communities in many different cities and states. She brings with her in depth experience of advocating clients’ needs to schools, courts systems, and mental health agencies.  She is an active advocate for children and families and is currently a Guardian ad Litem in Greenville County. As a HOPS (Healthy Outcomes Program Spartanburg), Community Case Worker she works one-on-one with participants to address barriers to living a healthy lifestyle, while also connecting them to quality health care.

Alba Marin joined the staff at AccessHealth Spartanburg as the Eligibility Specialist in July of 2012. She handles program eligibility and recertification as well as goal updates. Although she has lived in Spartanburg for more than nine years, Alba is native to Colombia and her heart for the Hispanic community has been a huge blessing to the staff and clients at AccessHealth. Alba and her husband have three boys and she enjoys running and doing yoga in her spare time.

Tracie is a Community Case Worker for the Healthy Outcomes Program. In her role, she works closely with clients to ensure that they are connected to necessary medical and social resources. Prior to joining AccessHealth Spartanburg in 2016, Tracie worked in Spartanburg School District Two and has worked with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System for a total of 14 years in various areas including the Centralized Referral Center, Radiology, and Medical Records. She holds a BA in Information Management Systems- Healthcare from USC Upstate and a MAT in English from Converse College. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking road trips, working in her yard, and reading.

She has her bachelor's degree in business from Winthrop University and has been working in the healthcare field for 20 years. Tamika is a native of Spartanburg. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate. She has a background in cardiovascular and hospice nursing. As a case manager for the HOPs program, she conducts assessments to make appropriate referrals for resources within our community. Her number one goal is to connect patients with primary care for a healthier lifestyle. Tamika and her husband are the proud parents of three sons. In her free time she enjoys being with her family, active within her church, and listening to music.

Susan Overlees joined AccessHealth Spartanburg in April 2011 and handles all client calls, correspondence, phone intake and scheduling. She is a graduate of Wofford College and has a wealth of experience in healthcare and dental office management. A resident of Hampton Heights, Susan stays busy outside the office as the Fundraising Coordinator for the Spartanburg Charter School PTO, where her twins attend school.

Jalisa hails from Spartanburg and attends USC Upstate. She is pursuing a BA in communications and hopes to get her Masters in communications so she can teach in higher education. She is serving with AmeriCorps this year and will be providing financial counseling to clients. She is passionate about helping clients reach their financial goals and helping them become self-sufficient.

Carey Rothschild is AccessHealth's second director, assuming the position in August 2011.  She directs all daily operation while also focusing on the program's long-term planning and sustainability. 

Carey is an experienced non-profit manager in the Spartanburg community.  She previously was Family Advocate and Project BEST (a Duke Endowment grant-funded initiative) Site Coordinator for the Children's Advocacy Center in Spartanburg.  An alum of the Grassroots Leadership Development Institute, she has served on numerous boards and committees. She currently serves as Chair of Spartanburg School District 7's Comprehensive Health Education Advisory Committee and is a member at large of the Spartanburg Shares board of directors.

Carey's previous healthcare experience included managing a dental office and nine years in a variety of patient service positions at St. Joseph's Hospital-now Mission Hospital System-in Asheville, N.C.

A native of Asheville, Carey and her husband live in Spartanburg with their two daughters.

Pam Shinta joined the AHS staff as an Eligibility Specialist in November of 2012. She handles program eligibility, recertification, goal updates, and general office support . 

Pam comes to AHS from Palmetto Hematology Oncology, where she worked as a Navigator for the John Fleming Cancer Center. Her vast experience in the healthcare field and knowledge of the Spartanburg community will be an asset to the clients of AHS. Pam has a passion for helping people and is a wonderful addition to the AHS team. A Spartanburg native, Pam enjoys being active at her church and spending time with her grandson, Harrison.

Summer is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She holds a BSN from Gardner-Webb University, and previously worked as a home health nurse.  As a Case Manager for our new HOPS program (Healthy Outcomes Program Spartanburg), Summer performs home visits to determine patient needs and assists them in the utilization of available resources so that they will have access to quality health care. Afterwards, patients are educated on what is expected of them and what they may expect once connected to a medical home so that they may receive quality, consistent care.
When Summer is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and running.

Kim is a Boiling Springs native who is passionate about serving her community. She joined AmeriCorps in 2017 and will be providing financial counseling to clients. She is pursuing a nursing degree from USC Upstate, has two children, and is excited to be serving with AccessHealth. She is hoping that she can further educate herself in order to help educate others.

Jenifer grew up in Miami, FL. and moved to Spartanburg in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew. She earned an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Miami Dade College, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from USCS, and BSN from Gardner-Webb University. She got her start in healthcare as a First Aid and CPR instructor for Miami Dade College and became an EMT after moving to Spartanburg. Her career in healthcare includes positions staffing the on-site Emergency Medical Unit at night during the 2 years construction of the BMW plant (while also volunteering as an ambulance crew member), an EMT for Spartanburg Regional E.R., an RN in Labor and Delivery and a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She most recently worked in Home Care as a case manager and served as the Home Health, Hospice, and Hospice House Clinical Educator. She is very excited to join the AccessHealth and HOPS staff to continue her professional journey in healthcare. She says that “Medicine and Education are my loves and I get to do both in this profession.”
 In her free time, she loves to shop and reconnect with friends and family.
